Hear the City
Cities tell stories through their architecture, public spaces, and social interactions. This project invites young people to become urban explorers and storytellers, discovering the hidden narratives that shape their communities and connecting with the diverse voices that make each city unique.
Through guided explorations, photography workshops, and community interviews, participants develop a deeper understanding of urban environments and their impact on community life. The project highlights the importance of accessibility in urban planning and the need for inclusive city design.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants bring unique perspectives to urban exploration, often noticing visual details and spatial relationships that others might miss. Their contribution enriches the project's understanding of how different communities experience and navigate urban environments.
Project Results: Educational Brochure
A comprehensive educational brochure was created, documenting urban exploration techniques, accessibility mapping methods, and community engagement strategies. The resource serves as a practical guide for other organisations and individuals interested in promoting inclusive urban development and community understanding.
